Peter Arnell’s Secret to Shifting.
Certain books never go out of style, and can continue to offer insights for decades to come. Peter Arnell’s book Shift: How to Reinvent Your Business, Your Career and Your Personal Brand is one such book. Written in 2010, the book continues to offer a roadmap for anyone wanting to reinvent their brand and or themselves.
In interviews on the Today Show and on Martha Stewart, he explains how his book Shift, can help transform individuals and brands.
On the Today Show he explained a number of points about the book in his own words:
“Shifting is the opportunity you have to make small changes in your life continuously that have a very quick impact and can be seen by your family, friends and yourself.”
He continued, “After 9/11, I was 407 pounds and it got me thinking about my life personally. I realized that a lot of things that I had done for a lot of companies that I could do for myself including physically which could make an impact in my life for family and friends.”
When asked about his love of oranges (he eats close to 50 a day), he explained, “The oranges mean more to me. I think everyone should grab a hold of something and own it so that it becomes a reminder every minute of every moment in your life to keep you on track as you’re shifting things in your life.”
On Martha Stewart he showed what his clothes used to look like before he lost so much weight. He explained, as well, that he started this journey because of the warning signs he knew he had for heart attacks and other medical issues.
Along with discussing his own personal shift, he also highlights some of the many company shifts that he has implemented and advised and the ways that companies can incorporate these ideas into their brand moving forward.
